SHARBOT LAKE - FALL EXCURSION
(Please read this entire email for all th
This coming September 7th & 8th the Club will be participating in the
Sharbot Lake - Fall
. For the first time ever we will be taking 2 boats!!. Everybody seems very excited about this prospect as 2 boats makes it more fun.....SO....
PLEASE REGISTER.....THERE ARE SEATS REMAINING: DON’T MISS OUT - THE MORE PADDLERS THE MORE FUN!!!
AND THE WEATHER FOR FOR BOTH DAYS IS FORECAST TO BE SUNNY AND 22 DEGREES!!
The boats will be arriving Friday and be launched Saturday at Sharbot Lake boat launch (south end of the park). For those coming up for the 2 days, and depending on the number of paddlers, we might take a boat for a tour to find the Sharbot Lake Inn and see if the refreshments are cold!
For the Saturday activities I would suggest we meet at my park site, # 47, just beyond the park entrance around 1 - 2 pm and we will finalize the day’s activities. At the same time you can pick up paddles, etc.
Mary and I will be arriving Friday, the 6th, and departing Sunday the 8th.
On Sunday we will meet at the park’s SHARBOT LAKE BOAT LAUNCH at
- - - -10:00am. - - - -
PLEASE NOTE: THIS TIME IS SET and ANY CHANGE WILL “ONLY” COME FROM ME (DOUG HARRISON, EXCURSION COORDINATOR).
Note: there is a boat launch on Black Lake.... BUT....that is not the launch we use!
There is parking near the boat launch, again at the south end of the Park. You will need a Park “parking pass” which is available at the park entrance along with directions.
IMPORTANT NOTE: For those requiring a paddle, life jacket aka PFD, and seat pad, please let me know by email with “sizes” of paddles and PFD’s and I will bring them up for you,
- - - - - TO BE PICKED UP AT SITE # 47 prior to 9:30am Sunday. - - - - -
*IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER:
Water, Hat, A Selection Of Clothing (to cover the variety of weather conditions),
> -$ Money$: There will be a nominal fee per person to cover gas to trailer the boats ($5.00 unless otherwise notified, to be paid directly to me.) and Sunday lunch.
The Park is approximately 1 1/2hrs. drive from central Brighton. The route as suggested by GPS is HWY 401, 37 to 7. PLEASE NOTE that THERE HAS BEEN SOME CONSTRUCTION ON HWY 37 and I’m not sure if it will be completed by our trip. You might be better off to take HWY 62 through to 7.
> IN CASE OF A SERIOUS WEATHER ISSUE THE SESSIONS WILL BE CANCELLED THROUGH THE. “HOT LINE” 613-475-5532 and Email
> Any questions?? Please contact me (Doug Harrison) at (613) 968-1232 or email
